Research Ethics First
As an academic collective (The Mobile Digital Observatory), our primary interaction with user data is minimal, transparent, and solely for qualitative metric analysis. We explicitly do not engage in the commercial exchange of personally identifiable telemetry.
Information We Process
When you interact with our published papers or use the Contact Form to submit an IoT anomaly, we collect only the parameters you voluntarily provide (Name, Email, Device Type, Geolocation reported). This information is sequestered securely and is never cross-referenced with commercial ad networks.
Cookie Usage & Analytics
We deploy fundamental analytical scripts (such as Google Analytics) in an anonymized mode to count page requests on our research servers. No tracking cookies are retained on your device unless manually granted by you through our bottom-page overlay.
CCPA / California Residents
If you reside within the state of California, the CCPA grants you specific rights regarding your personal information. You have the right to request what data we possess and mandate its deletion. To invoke this right, simply email our Chief Data Custodian at [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days.
Data Transmission Ethics
All traffic between our research servers and your local client is secured via End-to-End TLS encryption. Server logs are purged on an automated 30-day rotation.
